Most of TradieCheck has been about proving what a site looked like before and after a job. This update covers a different gap: knowing where your people actually are.

If you're running jobs solo, you already know your own whereabouts. But the moment you take on a second tradie, an apprentice, or a labourer working a different address, that certainty disappears. You're left texting "you there yet?" and hoping for a reply between jobs.

What it does

Open a job in TradieCheck and there's now a Check In button. Whoever's heading to that site taps it when they arrive, and Check Out when they leave. Each tap records the time and the GPS location, so you get an actual attendance log for the job, not a guess based on text messages.

1

Staff check in on arrival

One tap on the job screen. Time and GPS location get logged automatically.

2

Check out when they leave

Same button, now labelled Check Out. Records how long they were actually on site.

3

You see the full log

Every job now shows a Site Attendance list: who was there, when they arrived, when they left.

Consent, done properly

GPS location is personal information. In Western Australia, tracking someone's location without their agreement can breach the Surveillance Devices Act. So the first time anyone taps Check In, they get a plain explanation of what's being recorded and why, and they have to agree before it captures anything. No consent, no check-in. We built it that way from the start, rather than bolting a privacy notice on afterwards.

If a staff member would rather not check themselves in, an admin can still close out an open check-in on their behalf, for example, if someone forgot to tap out before leaving.

Who this is for

This one's for accounts with a team, so it's included on the Pro and Business plans. If you're running solo, there's no one else to track and nothing changes for you. If you've just taken on your first offsider, this is one more reason the upgrade pays for itself.
