Getting Started
TradieCheck is a progressive web app — install it on your phone like a native app for the best experience. No App Store required.
Create Your Account
Go to tradiecheck.app and tap "Sign Up". Enter your name, email and a password. You'll get a 7-day free trial with full Business plan features — no credit card needed.
Install to Your Home Screen
On iPhone: tap the Share button → "Add to Home Screen". On Android: tap the browser menu → "Install App" or "Add to Home Screen". TradieCheck will work like a native app.
Set Up Your Branding (Business Plan)
Go to Settings → Branding. Add your business name, logo, ABN, phone and email. This appears on all PDF reports sent to clients.
Sites & Areas
A Site is any property or location you work at. Once created, a site can have multiple jobs over time — handy for repeat clients or ongoing maintenance contracts.
Add a Site
Tap the 🏗️ Sites tab → "Add Site". Enter the site name (e.g. "42 Ironbark Drive"), address, client name and contact details, and site type (residential/commercial/industrial).
Define Areas
Areas are the zones you'll photograph during inspections — Kitchen, Bathroom, Living Room, Tiles/Floor, etc. Tap the site → "Manage Areas" to add them. You can use the quick-add suggestions or type your own.
Creating a Job
A Job is a single engagement at a site — one contract, one visit period. Each job gets its own arrival and departure inspection pair.
Open the Site
Go to Sites → tap your site → tap "New Job".
Fill In Job Details
Select the trade type (tiling, painting, flooring, etc.), add a job reference number if you have one, set start and end dates, and add a brief description of the work being done.
Job Status
Jobs move through: Upcoming → In Progress → Completed → Closed. Update the status as work progresses from the job detail screen.
Arrival Inspection
Do your arrival inspection before you touch anything. This is your protection — it documents the site's condition when you arrived.
Start the Inspection
Open the job → tap "🔵 Start Arrival Inspection". TradieCheck will ask for location access — allow it so GPS is recorded on every photo.
Walk Through Each Area
TradieCheck steps you through each area one at a time. For each area, tap the camera to take photos. Use multiple photos — wide shots plus close-ups of anything notable.
Flag Pre-existing Damage
If you can see existing damage, tap the ⚠️ flag on that photo to mark it as "pre-existing damage". Add a caption describing what it is.
Complete the Summary
On the final step, rate the overall condition, mark whether damage is present, and add any general notes. Tap "Complete Inspection" to finalise.
Departure Inspection
When the job is complete, do a departure inspection to document the site's condition as you leave. TradieCheck compares it automatically with the arrival.
Start Departure Inspection
Open the job → tap "🟡 Start Departure Inspection". Walk the same areas, take photos of your finished work and the overall condition.
Flag New Damage (if any)
If anything changed during the job (not your fault), flag it with the 🔴 "New Damage" marker so it's clearly documented in the final report.
Send the Report
Once complete, tap "Send Report" to email or copy the report link directly to your client. The report shows both inspections side by side.
Sharing Reports
Every job gets a unique, permanent report URL. You can share it anytime — before, during, or after the job.
Share Link
Copy the report URL and send it via text, email or WhatsApp. The client opens it in their browser — no login needed.
Email from App
Tap "Send Report" from the job view. Enter the client's email and TradieCheck sends it for you.
PDF Download
Generate a branded PDF report with one tap. Download it or send as an email attachment.
View Tracking
TradieCheck records when a client views the report — timestamped evidence they received it.
Digital Signatures
Signatures are the most powerful part of TradieCheck. A client signature on the arrival report means they confirmed the pre-existing conditions with their own hand.
Client Views Report Link
When your client opens the report link, they'll see the full inspection with all photos. At the bottom is a signature pad.
Client Signs on Their Device
The client draws their signature on their own phone or device and types their full name. They tap "Confirm & Sign".
Signature Locked to Report
The signature is permanently attached to the report along with a timestamp. It appears in the PDF and is stored securely.
Branding & Settings
Available on the Business plan. Add your business identity so every report looks professional.
Business Name
Your trading name appears on report headers and PDFs.
Logo
Upload your logo to appear at the top of every report and PDF.
ABN
Your Australian Business Number is displayed on reports for professional credibility.
Phone & Website
Contact details appear on PDFs so clients can reach you easily.
Team & Staff
On Pro and Business plans you can add staff members — apprentices, subcontractors, or other tradies in your crew.
Invite a Staff Member
Settings → Team → "Add Staff". Enter their name and email. They'll receive an invitation email with login instructions.
Staff Access
Staff can create sites, run jobs, and perform inspections. All reports are branded to your business account — not their individual profile.
